OH MY ACHING BACK

Today was a "Back to the basics" day. My kitchen helper and I canned 10 quarts of tomato's. We went from this:

To this

To this

My little helper came up with the idea to put the cute fabric and ribbon on the lids. I think it is a nice touch.

As I watched my daughter's hands work -- I could not help but STOP and observe her in awe. Her every move reminds me of my own.

I am humbled that the Lord has given me such a special little soul to love and guide through this life.

I am honored to have the privilege of passing this tradition on to her.

BACK-TO-BASIC'S UNPLUGGED

This is my next commitment to a simpler lifestyle. Again, I didn't say easier or faster...just simpler.

Tickle their brain with traditional games instead of video games.

My monkeys are playing Mandika-An Ancient African Strategy game. Have you ever played it?
It's a fun one. I just hate it when my 8 year old beats me.

1. NO CLOTHES DRYER THIS SUMMER!!!

2. NO GAS POWERED WEED WHIP THIS SUMMER!!!

3. NO VIDEO GAMES or TV....Yikes... at least limit it to 30 minutes a day!!!!

4. Stay tuned to see how crazy I am...

BACK-TO- BASIC'S : SIMPLE LIVING

This is my next commitment to a simpler life style. Again, I didn't say easier or faster...just simpler.

1. Posted Monday.

2. NO GAS POWERED WEED WHIP THIS SUMMER!!!
I was SO frustrated today...I went to get the weed whipper out. First time this year. I had to jump through multitude of hoops to get the little rascal running. Find the twine...twirl it around gadget ---get the right mixture ratio of gas and oil. Prime..several time...pull cord ...prime some more...do the chokey thingy pull cord ... keep repeating until running. I thought, "hmmmmm, there has to be a simpler way to trim around these rocks." It came to me--- I had purchased these handy dandy grass clipper from a yard sale some years ago. They work great. I should have some great looking forearms by summer's end.

3. STAY TUNED
