Hair today gone today!

Well, today was the day!

Let me start at the beginning.

Two years ago, the question was presented to our lovely kiddos. "How can you be a blessing to others and possible have an impact in their life"

My boys in there typical "git-r-done fashion" said, "we can help the neighbors with yard work, garbage and all sorts of man stuff." Don't get me wrong THIS IS GOOD. And there is a need for these types of blessings to others.

When I looked at my daughter she seemed deep in thought. I asked her, "so what do you think"? Her response was, "I would like to grow my hair for Locks Of Love. This sounded simple enough. Right?

However, the whole grooming thing -- brushing, braiding, washing, and keeping your hair up and out of your face thing is certainly not on my daughters list of strengths. Not to mention her hair as beautiful as it is, grows painfully slow.

This is what struck me and why I stand in awe of her.

She was willing to put up with all of that trouble and irritation for what has been two years now, in order to be blessing to someone.

Clearly her gift is patience.

My 12 year old granddaughter had her hair cut to a short bob so that she could donate the 15" locks to Locks of Love.

I'm so proud of her.
