Organizing My Prayer Life

I am looking for an effective way to organize my prayer life.

I have kept a simple running list of prayer request and answered prayers for many years. I suppose this is good but I want to be better. After all the Lord does deserves our best.

So, I decided to call upon all my very bright and creative bloggy friends for some tips and suggestions. How do you organize your prayer request (life)?

Not sure how I found this blog but I have been reading from many different blogs this morning and following comments..... And here I am... I love this blog and I have a suggestion for you on your Organizing Prayer Life...

http://www.journalsunlimited.com/store/products/212765/prayer-journal/

You can custom order this journal and they are wonderful.. I had two custom Journals made for my brother Paul to keep a record of the galleries that he has art work ... They were beautiful... I am having two made for me for the people that I am praying for from the blogs and from friends here at home.... I have one for just general information during the day but I want one for the prayer list...... You can create your own picture and your own caption... How fun is that... and not too much money....... take a look.. I think you will love them...

I am doing a TEE shirt contest for the blogs and I am going to use the logo that is selected for the front of my journal... When you get time go and take a look at the contest and join.. it will be fun

nice to mee you...

I too have a leather bound journal that I write in. I also keep a note pad in my purse and also one next to my computer. So as I am reading blogs, answering my emails or checking my online communities I can write down what needs praying for. I also try to drop an email or a snail mail card to those that I know have just had a doctor appt or whatnot that they were nervous for. I think the fact that you track your prayers in the first place is wonderful.

Hum, that's a good question! I don't actually keep a prayer journal...started to, but lost track of it with all the reading.

I do, however, have the best quiet time and prayer time that I have ever had these days. I spend almost an hour reading devotionals, my Bible (I am re-reading Genesis right now), and books on parenting, marriage, and my faith. It has helped me to focus on the MOST important things in my life.

Hope that helps...

I don't really organize my prayer life... I just pray. A lot.

Have you read A Woman's Call to Prayer? I really enjoyed it.

Anyway, my prayer notebook has several sections that I keep up. One for me, one for my husband, one for my family, a section for each of kids, a section for the world, a section for friends and one for prayer requests. I use a nice little binder type notebook so I can add pages and even sections.

Wow I just have to say that you read my mind! My question is how to organize my prayer time! LOL I am amazed at the respsonses you've gotten. They are all great ideas. I just write down prayer requests from church. Never thought to write the others I come across down. Thanks for the idea! :)

Organizing a prayer life is hard for me. I make plans, lol say this is what I should do and need to do and I may make it okay for a few days... then I get all off again. So... I maybe I will get some good ideas from you.

I keep a section on my sidebar for prayer requests. I try to update it ever week or two. When I take someone or something off, I write a post about it. That way, I can just go and click on the prayer request link and see all of my prayer requests. Also, other people can see the prayer requests and pray for those things and then come back for updates. It seems to work pretty well. By the way, I got here via the Bloggy Giveaway.

i love all the ideas here! as for me, i'm totally unorganized when it comes to prayers. mostly because i generally feel like i'm just having a continually on-going conversation. but i'm really loving the journal idea!

I haven't used it in a while, but I remember e-Sword having a section where you can keep track of prayer requests. If you google e-Sword, you'll find it - a very wonderful study tool that allows you to download multiple versions of the Bible, several commentaries, devotionals, take notes, track prayer requests, etc. It downloads to one file on your desktop and is available offline so you don't need to be on the internet to access it. This is actually my issue as well. I was doing a google search for tips on how to organize my prayer life and found this wonderful blog with wonderful ideas!
