Gentleness

The fruit of the spirit is...Gentleness
Clothe yourselves with... Gentleness

Galatians 5:22-23 and Colossians 3:12

I pray for patience, I pray for love, I pray for purity and self control. But Gentleness. I seldom pray for the grace of gentleness. The Lord has been pricking my heart to be "gentle" with my thoughts, words and actions.

Both gentleness and meekness are born of power, not weakness.

I have been studying Isaiah 40. In this chapter it describes both the power and the tenderness of God. Oh, how I want to be more like Him.

Things I am working on:

1. Treating others gently
2. Treating others considerately
3. Seeking a gentle spirit

I am seeking the Lord to make me aware of specific situations in which I fail to act with gentleness or considerateness.

Hope,

It is so funny that you would be (of all people) talking about GENTLENESS. You, just from what I know, strike me as kind and gentle.

What a beautiful and sometimes hard thing to work on, huh?

Gentleness ....Something that I used to work on daily. I have a very strong personality and the Lord used to have to hold the reigns on me quite often.. but over the early years of my Christian life He taught me gentleness...... and that was quite the task for Him as I have this very strong personality..... but God can do all things.......

great post..........
